Legacy rescue and codebase audits
An honest look at what you inherited.
An application left behind by an agency that stopped replying, or by a developer who moved on, starts with an audit rather than a rewrite. Vuewer assesses code quality, security, dependencies and whether it can still be deployed, then prices stabilising it. Sometimes the answer is not to keep it.
What you get
What this actually includes.
- A written assessment of code quality, security, dependencies and deployability.
- The build running locally and deployable again, usually the first real blocker.
- Tests added around the paths that matter, before anything is rewritten.
- A prioritised plan with effort estimates, so you can stop at any point.
How it runs
How the work actually goes.
- Get it building again
- Usually the first real blocker. Nothing can be judged until the application runs locally and deploys somewhere, and how hard that is already tells you most of what you need to know.
- The written audit
- Code quality, security, dependency support, test coverage and deployability, each with a severity and an estimate. Written to be read by someone who is not a developer, because that is usually who decides.
- Stabilise, then decide
- Tests around the paths that matter, then the urgent fixes. A rewrite is only worth discussing after that, and only if the audit says so. You can stop at the audit and take it elsewhere.

What if the previous developer left no documentation?
Will you tell us to rewrite it?
Can we buy just the audit?
